How we write and check our guides and comparisons
octuedit is an AI video editor for Mac, and we make it. Our guides and comparison pages recommend other tools whenever they fit a job better, and this page explains how those pages are written and checked so you can judge them for yourself.

Who writes the guides and comparisons?
Shivank Goura, co-founder and CEO of Octupie, writes and edits every guide and comparison on this site. We edit our own videos in octuedit, so pages about octuedit come from using it every week. You can read more about us on the About page.
Where do competitor facts come from?
Every competitor price, platform and feature comes from that company's own public website, never from a review site or from memory. Each comparison page links its sources and shows the date we last checked them. Facts about octuedit come from the app itself and its release notes.
How often are facts re-checked?
We re-check a competitor's pages before we edit anything that mentions it, and update the date on the page when a fact changes. On 26 October 2026 we re-checked ChatCut, Ponder and DaVinci Resolve Studio and corrected every page that mentioned their prices.
Do you always rank octuedit first?
No. Each guide that lists octuedit says that we make it, and every comparison has a section on when the other tool is the better pick, such as editing on Windows, working with a team in the cloud or wanting a free editor. We only claim a competitor lacks something when its own pages show that.
Do you accept payment to include or rank other tools?
No. No company pays to appear in our guides or comparisons, and we don't publish ratings or reviews we wrote ourselves.
How do I report a mistake?
Email shivank@octupie.com with the page and what is wrong. We read every message, check the fact on the source, correct the page and update its date.
